About Us

This serology blood test identifies the presence of antibodies that indicate that a person had an immune response to COVID-19 (also known as coronavirus or SARS-CoV-2). A positive result to this antibody (IgG) test indicates that you may have had previous exposure to COVID-19 and your body has developed antibodies.

Although It may take up to 14 days after the onset of symptoms for antibodies to be developed within the body, 91% of people develop such antibodies within the first 4-13 days. Some people infected with COVID-19 will never exhibit symptoms but will have a detectable antibody response. While there is scientific belief that the presence of antibodies may provide immunity to future infections, data is still being gathered to state this conclusively.

This is an antibody test used to detect the presence of antibodies indicating a immune system response to a past COVID-19 infection, not to diagnose active infections. Please follow up with your primary care physician or a local hospital for a COVID-19 diagnostic test if you believe you may have an active infection or if you are currently feeling sick.  If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911.

If you are an employer and would like to purchase COVID-19 antibody kits for your employees, please email our sales team.

QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE

Step 1

We recommend using a warm compress to accelerate the blood collection prior to disinfecting with the alcohol wipe. Clean the fingertip with an alcohol swab and puncture the fingertip using the lancet. This lancet works only one time.

lancet instructions

Simply hold the lancet against the patient’s fingertip and press down gently. The sterile needle will quickly penetrate skin to draw blood, then immediately retract back inside the safety mechanism. This helps ensure the entire needle is concealed before and after use in order to help minimize infection risk.

Step 2

Using the provided pipette, fill the pipette by slightly depressing the bulb and fill the tip with blood.

Step 3

Transfer the blood from the pipette to the diluent buffer in the provided tube.

Step 4

Mix diluted sample thoroughly.

Step 5

Add 3 drops of the diluted sample to both sections of the cassette labeled (S). You should note a faint pink color that begins rising to the top of the kit. This indicates the test is working. If you do not see this, please add another drop of diluent fluid.

Step 6

Wait 6 – 10 minutes.

Step 7

Read results. C = Control Line, T = Test Line. Please refer to the e-mail link that has been sent to you on how to interpret these results. You may also refer to our Rapid Connect Medical Youtube videos as well.

Step 2

Using the provided pipette, fill the pipette by slightly depressing the bulb and fill the tip with blood.

Step 3

Remove the test cassette from the sealed foil pouch and use it as soon as possible.

Step 4

Lay device on flat surface and add specimen

Hold the plastic dropper vertically and transfer 1 drop of whole blood (about 10 μL) to the sample well (S) of the test device. Immediately add 2 drops (about 80 μL) of sample buffer to the buffer well (B) ensuring that buffer vial tip does not touch the sample. Avoid air bubbles.

Step 5

Wait for the control line (C) to change from blue to a red color. If, after 2 minutes, the sample has not moved across the test window or if blood is still present in the sample well (S), add 1 additional drop of sample buffer to the buffer well (B).

Step 6

The results should be read in 10 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 15 minutes.

Step 7

Read results. C = Control Line. Please reference the section below “INTERPRETATION OF TEST RESULTS”. You may also refer to our Rapid Connect Medical YouTube videos as well.

Note: Regardless of the color saturation present of the band on the first test line (T), even a very weak band should be judged as a positive result
